About the Author
Carlo Maria Flumiani wrote more than twenty books about the stock market. Usually he illustrated them with colorful drawings as this one is. He was apparently born in Italy on August 14, 1901. He came to America as an immigrant in 1924. His books are highly regarded in spite of his flamboyant style and can be found in many financial libraries. A person by that name died on April 7, 1993 and is buried in a cemetery in Cherokee Memorial Park in Lodi California. However, no obituary seems to have been published at the time of his death, so it cannot be determined with certainty that this is the same person as the author of this book. His name does not seem to appear in the Social Security Death Index. It is possible and indeed likely that Carlo Maria Flumiani is a pseudonym, his real name was entirely different, and somebody else is buried in that cemetery plot. Jesse Lauriston Livermore was born on 26 July 1877 in Worcester, Massachusetts. His father wanted him to work on the family farm, so he ran away from home with five dollars in his pocket. He got a job with Paine, Weber marking the movement of stocks on a blackboard. After a doing this for a while, he began to notice patterns in price movements so he started making trades himself. Instead of playing on the big board, he soon found he could do better at the “Bucket Shops” which were essentially gambling parlors where the player bet against the house. Only a 10% margin was required at these bucket shops. Since the most he could lose was his 10% down but the amount he could make was infinite, soon Livermore became so good at this that he broke all the bucket shops. Later, Bucket Shops were made illegal by the Securities Act of 1933 and the Securities Exchange Act of 1934. Livermore became famous for making millions by selling short during the bear markets of 1907 and 1929. Although he was known for short selling, he usually went long in the market. His most famous for the book Reminiscences of a Stock Operator by Edwin Lef�vre. It is not known whether Edwin Lef�vre was a ghost writer or a pseudonym for Livermore himself. The book is required for anyone interested in being a securities trader. Livermore died by suicide on 28 November 1940 in Manhattan, New York. He left behind two sons, Jesse Jr. and Paul. Jesse Jr. was born 13 September 1919 in Lake Placid, New York and died 20 February 1976 in Palm Beach County, Florida. Paul Livermore was born on 3 April 1923 and died 2 May 2002 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

About the Author
Dr. Robert A. Weinberg is a founding member of the Whitehead Institute for Biomedical Research. He is the Daniel K. Ludwig Professor for Cancer Research and the American Cancer Society Research Professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Highly recommended.

As complete as any text can be with such a fast moving field. I supplemented it with Gilbert's Developmental Biology. This adds some insight to gynecological tumors. Well written. I have no expertise in this area and could still glean some valuable insights. Robert Weinberg shares a lifetime of research in this book. Highly recommended.

I used this as a textbook for an Oncology class during graduate school. The details were sufficient for the level of my course; the images were great. There was a lot of emphasis on certain topics that I feel shouldn't be emphasized, but to each his own. It is a lot better than other oncology textbooks that I've come across.

How to be organized and efficient in the workplace

The Personal Efficiency Program is exactly that, a program to help you get organized and stay organized so that you can get more done in less time. The overriding theme is to do things now and don't put them off. The book covers all the bases for organization from developing a routine, planning processes, following through, managing and maintaining. The area that it does not cover is the psychological factors in getting things done. For example, one of the books that I read noted that one of the problems with a "to-do" type list is that we tend to look at it and do the easiest or most fun things first. So, as a result our reward for completing one of the items on our "to-do" list is that we get a less desireable and more difficult task to do next. Rearranging the "to-do" list so that you do the most difficult and least fun things first you set yourself up for success because as a reward for doing the difficult item you get a less difficult item or more fun item to do. I know it is just playing games, but it does affect how well people get their "to-do" list completed. I wish that he had included research like that in the book in addition to all of the good ideas for organizing and keeping track of things.
This book is designed solely for the work environment and getting things organized and done at work. Still many of the items can be applied at home too. It is a good book and a good read with a program that works if you implement and practice it.

This is a fantastic book - the best of its type I have read. Gleeson writes in a sane, sensible way about how to organise yourself to get more done. His solution? Do It Now. Before you say: "That's obvious" how many of you do it consistently? Not many, and the reason, from my experience, is that we are rarely organised to do it other than later!! Gleeson fills in the gaps by showing you how to physically organise yourself and your workspace so that you can put the Do It Now principle into regular and continuing operation. Trust me - this book is a lifesaver!!

This book really inspired me to clean up my act at work. I always say that I have better things to think about than where is the proper place to put a particular item...but I followed the instructions in this book and got everything in order and it has definitely made me more efficient, as well as improving my professional image. I've been following the other advice and in just the first week of putting it into practice I have received a lot of compliments from the people I work with/for, which has inspired me to work even more on improving my personal efficiency through this program!

Beer is an industry with a storied past. It is an industry that is highly regulated and each state has its own unique set of laws governing its use, manufacture, distribution, etc. These differences, along with the often colorful individuals who have owned and operated breweries over the years, make the brewing industry one of the most unique of all. The mayhem that is the American brewing industry is captured nicely in the pages of Brewing Arizona, a walk through nearly 200 years of brewing history in the American southwest.

Brewing Arizona is a large, coffee table size book that covers the Arizona brewing scene from roughly the early 1800's to the present day. From the wild west days before Arizona achieved statehood to the modern craft beer boom, Brewing Arizona is ready to share the industry's high points, low points, and facts about the interesting individuals who helped shape the business as we know it today.

This book is well- researched and modern day craft beer fans will be happy to know that it devotes most of its pages to the craft beer boom of the past thirty or so years. Yes, the older history is covered as well, but the modern era receives the bulk of the book's pages. Readers will enjoy hearing about some of these newer players in the craft beer game, how they created their businesses, and the many unique challenges they face as they try to run a brewery from day to day.

America's brewing industry is one of its most unique and the people, places, and circumstances that helped make Arizona beer what it is today are covered nicely in the pages of Brewing Arizona. I came away from the reading with newfound knowledge of the Grand Canyon state's brewing industry and got to know quite a bit about its breweries, both old and new, and the many colorful individuals who have brewed its beer and helped its brewing industry adapt to change. It's a good way to learn a piece of brewery history and I recommend it to all.

I have been waiting for this book to be published since I first read about it in 2007! If you like beer and Arizona it is fabulous. It would still be a great book, even if you are not from Arizona.

Another good one with a big BUT

the whole India thing was fixed way too fast! India totally hates Lee and can't figure out how Cassidy and Drake can forgive him for what he did in the first book but after a couple of times talking to him and a couple of kisses, she does a 180 and is head over heels?? Not to mention that with her history of being raped, am I really supposed to believe she would just jump into bed with a man she's hated for couple years after a couple of kisses and a couple days thinking he's not as bad as she thought because he was a shoulder to cry on?? I liked Lee and India but I'm not big on those huge age differences in couples and I just thought the author rushed through getting Indie and Lee together sexually. It would have worked much better had he had to go a little at a time to get her comfortable. I don't think the author was true to how a rape victim would respond to sex especially if she lost her virginity as a result of rape. I also don't like how all 3 of the guys in this series use the term "baby" with the women. The author was lazy with this and using other phrases for all of them. I also didn't like how you really don't know how much time has passed, ages of people other than Indie, etc. I wanted to see how it ended but it wasn't a favorite.

Just got done reading Forbidden and it's simply amazing just like everything thing else that Cheryl Douglas has written! I have read everything that she has written and released so far. I can't pick a favorite book because they are all so good! She makes sure you get your smiles your laughter and your tears all in one!!! Keep up the great work!

Great Addition to Series

Forbidden is Book #3 in the Music City Moguls Series. This book can be read as a stand-alone but you may get more of the back story if you read Stone Cold (Book 1) and Envious (Book2) first. This is Lee Elliott and Indie Eaton’s story. Lee and Indie both have issues. Their past addictions and traumas have shaped their thoughts and emotions. Indie is judging Lee by his past and has a real animosity toward him. Lee is working to overcome his past and build his relationship with his brother. This was a well written book. You could almost feel the struggle that Lee makes daily to over-come what he has done in the past. You also feel for Indie, when you learn about her past. This is not your typical romance and does deal with some series topics and situations that could happen to anyone. Would recommend this read.

About the Author
Narayan S. Umanath is Professor [Emeritus] of Information Systems at the University of Cincinnati (UC) in Cincinnati, Ohio, USA. He has been at UC since 1996 and served as the department head of Information Systems (IS) for 7 years. Before that, he has been a faculty member at the Pennsylvania State University at the main (University Park) campus and the University of Tulsa. Umanath also serves as a member of the faculty in the Department of Mathematics & Computer Science (DMACS) at the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning (SSSIHL) in Prashanti Nilayam, India in the capacity of Visiting Professor since 2003. Entering academia after 17 years of technical and managerial experience in software development, he received his Ph.D. in Business Administration from the University of Houston in 1987. His undergraduate and graduate educations are in mechanical engineering and industrial engineering, respectively. Umanath has research publications in the domains of data visualization for decision support, agency theory applications in the design of compensation contracts, organizational computing, and electronic integration in supply channels; his current research interests are in the domains of knowledge exchange in supply-chain relationships, and data modeling & data warehousing. His research publications have appeared in Management Science, Decision Sciences, Journal of MIS, Communications of the ACM, International Journal of Information Management, Information & Management, Information Resources Management Journal, Journal of Managerial Issues and National Academy Science Letters. Umanath has also co-authored a text book titled "Data Modeling & Database Design".

Richard W. Scamell serves as Associate Dean for Student Affairs and Professor of Decision and Information Sciences in the C. T. Bauer College of Business at the University of Houston. He received his Ph.D. degree from The University of Texas at Austin. Since joining the faculty at Houston in 1972, he has taught more than two dozen different courses at the undergraduate, masters, and doctoral levels, three of which have been focused in the database area. His publications have appeared in journals such as Management Science, MIS Quarterly, Academy of Management Journal, Decision Sciences, IEEE Transactions on Software Engineering, Communications of the ACM, Omega, and Information and Management.

Sensors are used to gather a wealth of information from the process that can improve operational efficiency and product quality. Smart sensors include features such as communication capability and on-board diagnostics.

Sensors are now omni-present and ubiquitous. Leading edge research in sensors has been propelled by the advancements made in MEMS technology in the last decade. The scientific world is now on the verge of delivering sensors with radically new capabilities.
