Impressive Debut Novel

An impressive debut novel from the author of one of my favorite short stories, which I think fans of the sci-fi and heroic quest genres are sure to enjoy. The story revolves around Enoch, the last of a once powerful race of technomancers as he seeks his destiny amidst the post-apocalyptic ruins of a high-tech earth. Along the way he encounters a host of delightfully imaginative biologically-tailored and cybernetically-enhanced terrors that inhabit the world of the Silicon Covenant.

I thought the pacing was good, action was great, and the characters were memorable. I particularly liked Ric the undead ex-rock & roller from a long forgotten era. At times the world-building felt a little forced, but I suspect it is because the author has a much larger story planned for us, of which this is but the opening act. I'm looking forward to seeing what comes next.

I've been reading sci-fi and fantasy for many years and found it an altogether enjoyable read.

but I really enjoyed this book

Ok I'm a nerd, so I'm biased when reading science fiction and fantasy, but I really enjoyed this book. It started out a bit slow, but the way the author built suspension as the plot marched forward, and the way the characters unfolded, it felt more like enjoying a long, three course meal than just waiting an hour to be seated (I like food too). While some reviewers felt that the 'monsters' and world felt too much like a video game, I really enjoyed the fresh take on what makes a monster, the way nanotechnology fused with runaway, radiation-infused biology and genetic engineering; it took the trite, conventional monster and genetically-engineered human/cyborg and combined them into something that felt unique, and I think gives the author leeway into more creativity. At first I felt like the main characters abilities, while exciting, we're fairly limiting in a world that seemed to teem with characters much more powerful, but by the end of the book it felt like there was a lot of potential to go in some exciting directions. I also like the fact that the author didn't make the main character too powerful, I feel like there was a good balance maintained. Overall there was enough plot revealed to be interesting, with enough mystery to make me anxious to find out more in the next book. The action was plentiful enough that I didn't get bored, and I enjoyed the balance of raw, physicality and mental ability. While I would have rated it a 4 star book a quarter of the way through, by the end I'm just desperately wishing the sequel were out already!

Genre bending at its finest.

A excellent book, cannot wait for the sequel. The story was a refreshing blend of scifi and fantasy elements set in the far off future. a distant future where "the bombs have already fallen and a bit of magic has returned to the land". Although in this far flung adventure much of the "magic" is the product of remnants of long forgotten technology.

Fans of diverse mythologies such as the vampire hunter D novels and movies, as well as adventure time should find this book enjoyable!

Truth About the Origins and Goals of Judeomasonry

An excellent history of power politics -- follow the money.....and the secret societies financed by that money.

Jeff Wilkerson presents a history of the Judeomasonic Conspiracy and the Priory of Sion Conspiracy that has led to the triumph of today's New World Order. The conspiracies have a long pedigree; they were launched centuries ago by a group of conspirators to advance the cause of the Jewish Utopia, as foretold in the Talmud. One conspiracy was based in Adam Weishaupt's Illuminist takeover of Masonry; the other conspiracy was based in a line of Merovingian (Jewish) Kings resulting from an alleged marriage of Jesus of Nazareth to Mary Magdalene.

The author explains in his epilogue (pp 367-368) that:

"They [Jews], following the tenets of Judaic Law would attempt to make the Jewish race supreme over all other men. . . . They were behind the Knights Templars, the Cathars, the Rosicrucians, as well as the Freemasons. They were involved in starting the Crusades, where, after emptying the vaults of gold found beneath Solomon's Temple, they obtained their vast wealth. Wealth they were to add on to for centuries to come: they accumulated properties and estates; they became the bankers of choice, if you will, to every potentate in Europe. They would eventually help start the Renaissance which culminated in the Protestant Reformation. They were, and grew wealthy from, most of the European wars that were to spill so much blood in the ensuing centuries."

In this book Wilkerson makes his case for the above claim.

Jeff Wilkerson has compiled a very interesting history here. Some of the names and events you will remember, but many you will not, but all will be connected together by a worldwide conspiracy. This history involves much more than just what we know of as the Freemasons of today, but stretches back thousands of years through European history and back into the Middle East, involving various jewish sects and the revolutionary figure of Jesus. This book ties together crucial elements missing from "The Da Vinci Code" and "Holy Blood, Holy Grail" and puts things in a very judeo-centric context, which will help inform you as to the machinations of world powers today, so that you might see what these grand schemes could all be about.

Very informing book on Freemasonry

Sion's Army: The Freemasons is a 2016 book written by debut-author Jeff Wilkerson. Jeff is a political activist who has been involved with the populist party and was also a former member of the National Alliance. The author is very intrigued with the topics of secret societies, which has led to him writing his seminal work on the historical role of freemasonry.

This is certainly not a book you are going to want to read on the beach, the subject matter is indeed rather heavy albeit, not arduous. This book has an extraordinary historical span which begins with his postulations about Jesus Christ up to the American and French Revolutions. This author has certainly done his research and the result is an impressive 400 page tome on the subject.

One thing I really enjoyed about this book was that Jeff understands the fundamentals on history i.e. that history is much more than simply names, dates, and battles. History in it's most fundamental sense is essentially the documentation of the way in which different racial, ethnic, and religious groups interact. Nowadays too often books are plagued with political correctness and in turn the author attempts to circumnavigate around pertinent issues, this book however does not suffer from that particular fate one bit.

I personally have always trivialized the role of the Freemasons in my mind and have for a long time considered them to be something of a diversion, that distracts people from the real core issues of who is behind the malaise of our society and why. This book deals with the historical role of the Jews and all other peoples involved, and the author does a magnificent job documenting everything.

After reading this book, I am walking away with a newfound perspective on who the Freemasons are, and how they came into being. If you are interested in history and especially if you are interested in secret societies and conspiracy theories, you will find reading this book to be a very enlightening and rewarding experience. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to reading the follow-up that the author has planned.

Great manual. It IS an actual book

This is just as described. Great manual. It IS an actual book. I thought it was going to be a loose leaf version like what I have seen in class but I actually prefer this a lot more. It's a pain when you rip pages flipping through them in a binder. WileyPlus is not include (sold seperately).

It's a good manual. But only binder version.

The manual seems pretty good for my class. It's new. The material the manual is made from is flimsy paper. But that's not too big of an issue. Just hard to get in a binder. It's a bit frustrating that they sent the binder version. When I bought the manual it gave me the option of binder or paperback version and I selected the paperback but I still received the paperback. So not sure if this only comes in binder version.

About the Author
Dr. Larry Linkous is a third generation preacher whose more than forty years of public ministry experiences has sharpened his awareness and sensitivity to the challenges and needs of people in this demanding world. Larry spent his younger years out of Bible school in evangelism and youth ministry, but early on realized his true calling as pastor, a shepherd of God's sheep.

Dr. Linkous has been married for forty-four years to his wife Sandra and they pastor a great inter-denominational multicultural church on the Space Coast of Florida, a church they founded in 1983. In 1990 Larry began a daily two-and-a-half hour radio program Thee Morning Drive that continues to broadcast daily Monday thru Friday from 6:30 to 9:00 eastern time airing on many stations across the nation and streaming around the world at www.FindNew Life.com.

I am a fan of Pastor Linkous. I have enjoyed his preaching and encouraging radio show for years. I also enjoyed the book. It contains basic Christian concepts and presents them in a manner that is easy to understand and apply to one's life.

areas that individuals deal with day in and out, in today's society. I purchased it
to read on my ipad, and in a few sittings read the book!
We live in such a fast paced world, with technology and the many voices we
hear each day. The book will help anyone to truly reflect on those things
in life, that are important to finish strong in life.

Extremely interesting and readable

This is very informative, and thought-provoking, and fulfills the intent of it's title. As a nurse and a parent, I realize the ambivalency felt by those who are involved with a baby needing intensive care. It will help those who have never been there understand just what a baby experiences in the Intensive-Care Nursery. Keep in mind though that this book was published in 1993, and it's statistics are not up-to-date.

Difficult decisions in the nursery

Since I was born premature, this was a hard book for me to read. It was about babies that were born premature or with serious health problems and how health professionals had to make decisions as to whether to withhold care or to treat them and have them survive, but with disabilities. There were cases when they had to decide if treating the babies was causing them more suffering then was needed and if it would be kinder to let them die. As someone with a disability, it was alarming and disturbing how the doctors viewed babies that would be disabled as being less valuable than others there were parts of this book I found horrifying and other their parts that I just found sad. I think I read it from a different perspective knowing that had the doctors treating me when I was born prematurely known the level of disability I would face as an adult, many of them would have advocated letting me die....and I would have missed out on my whole life. Maybe my inability to separate my own situation from that of the babies in the book skewed my perceptions.....but I did find this a valuable book. I'm also coming at this from the point of view of a right to lifer....someone who feels babies should be given every change at life whether they are deemed to have a good life or not. So I pretty much had a strong opinion going in, and this book did nothing to sway me.

Excellent study

Anspach shows how different groups of people (nurses, parents, surgeons, etc.) weigh life-and-death decisions. She puts the decisions in legal, institutional, political, economic and professional contexts. In other words, she describes the complexity and nuance of these decisions. Her prose is vivid and sensitive: you can imagine yourself on the scene and almost hear the anguish and frustration of some of the people she interviewed.

Anspach brilliantly shows how the fates and troubles of a wide variety of individuals are shaped by larger social forces. This book is sociology at its best.
